DESCRIPTION:  \nWinter Warrior Challenge\nOcean City\, New Jersey is gearing up for an exciting and action-packed Presidents Day Weekend\, bringing families\, friends\, and local businesses together. The OCNJ Winter Warrior Challenge offers a fun-filled race that includes four components…something for everyone! The event will take place on Saturday February 15th\, 2025 at the Civic Center and includes four components: an obstacle course race for children\, a “Winter Warrior” obstacle course race for adults and individuals\, team challenges such as a fire truck pull\, and an indoor festival for participants and spectators. \nKids Challenge Course\nWe are in America’s Greatest Family Resort\, so of course the Winter Warrior Challenge will also feature a Kids Challenge Course. Designed for children ages 13 and under\, this fun\, non-competitive course includes obstacles like a rock wall\, cargo net\, agility poles\, noodle tower and more! \n10:00am to 12:00pm: the course will be open to all kids\, ages 13 and under.\n12:00pm to 1:00pm: family relays\n1:00pm to 2:00pm: the course re-opens to all kids\, ages 13 and under. \nKids who want to participate must be signed up\, check in upon arrival\, and wear a participation wristband. It’s the perfect way to get the whole family moving! \nWinter Warrior Obstacle Course\nThe ultimate test of grit and strength. Are you ready to conquer a 2.5-mile cold obstacle course with 10 obstacles along the way? The Winter Warrior Challenge is the highlight of the event\, offering participants ages 14 and older the chance to race through ten obstacles designed to challenge even the most determined athletes. From sand mounds and tire runs to cargo net climbs and floating steps\, this obstacle course promises to push you to your limits.\nThe race will start at 9:00am with the first wave for those who are ready to give it their all. Please see the race wave details below: \n\n9:00 am: 1st wave – “I’m going hard!”\n9:30 am: 2nd wave – “Someone talked me into this\, and I’m trying it”\n10:00 am: team wave – teams must stay together (If you do not have and team and would like to be on a team\, put your name on the individuals forming a team list at check-in).\n12:00 pm to 1:00 pm: the adult course will open to all ages (must be accompanied by an adult if under 14).\n\nTeam Challenge\nIf you are looking for a a challenge that will test both your physical and teamwork skills\, this is the challenge for you! Teams of four will compete in five strength events\, including a 2.5-mile obstacle course (where the team must finish together)\, a fire truck pull\, sandbag-carry relay\, tire-flip relay\, and a fire hose and dummy rescue challenge. \nCategories include co-ed\, all-male\, and all-female teams\, and the top teams will receive awards\, with the ultimate prize being the Winter Warrior Team Champion title. \nWinter Warrior Festival\nAfter unleashing your inner warrior\, we have a festival for you to enjoy! DESCRIPTION:The Trail of Two Cities 5K Run/Walk will take place at 8 a.m. on Saturday\, November 2\, 2024. This popular race covers a distance of 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) and offers breathtaking views along a point-to-point course from Ocean City to Somers Point\, following the Route 52 causeway in lanes typically reserved for vehicles.\nRegistration Information-\nParticipants can register online  or on race day from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at the Ocean City Transportation Center\, located at 945 Haven Avenue. Registration fees are $25 until 4 p.m. on October 30\, 2024\, with in-person registration available for $30 at the Ocean City Aquatic & Fitness Center on October 31 and November 1. On race day\, the registration fee will be $35. Please note that all entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Advance packet pickup is scheduled for Friday\, November 1\, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Aquatic & Fitness Center. \nCourse Information-\nThe race will begin at the Transportation Center at 9th Street and Haven Avenue in Ocean City. Buses will be available to transport participants from the finish line at John F. Kennedy Park in Somers Point back to the starting line before the race\, with the last bus departing at 7:30 a.m. After the race\, additional buses will take runners back to Ocean City. \n Awards Information-\nAn awards ceremony will follow at JFK Park once all participants have finished. Awards will be given to the top overall male\, female\, and non-binary finishers\, along with the top three finishers in various age categories\, including 8-and-under\, 9-11\, 12-14\, 15-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70-79\, and 80-and-over. \nVolunteer Information-\nThe course benefits from proceeds that support Ocean City Recreation Scholarships and Programs\, as well as the Somers Point Education Foundation.  For more information\, contact the race organizers at recreation@ocnj.us or call 609-398-6900.
