As residents of Ocean City, we have a deep love and respect for the sea. The beach is not just the town’s main attraction, it’s also a part of who we are. That’s why we’re taking steps to protect our oceans.

First, we’ve added a donation box to our interactive pin-art exhibit that benefits Clean Ocean Action, an organization whose mission is to clean up and protect our oceans through scientific research, education, and public involvement.

Second, we’ve been transitioning from standard plastic bags to biodegradable ones made by Holden bags, one of the leading providers of ecologically friendly custom reusable grocery bags and totes. We’re proud to partner with a company that puts good out into the world. Stainton's Eco Bag

Tip: Did you know that plastic bags can take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade? They can also make their way into the ocean and harm or kill marine life. The solution is simple: go green wherever possible, and recycle whatever plastic bags you get. Most grocery stores have recycling bins specifically for plastic bags, and now every Wawa has them too.

These small changes can add up to make a big difference, and we hope our customers will join us in protecting the beaches and oceans we all love. Every little bit helps!
